The most practical and fastest way to reach Camping from abroad is by plane. Many foreign tourists from England, Germany, France, and other European and non-European countries choose Camping as their holiday destination during the summer season, not only because of the many services that the structure offers, but also because of its strategic location. Halfway between Rome and Ostia, it is well connected to the two locations by a regular bus service and is a strategic starting point to visit both the Capital and the excavations of Ostia Antica and the surrounding naturalistic areas. The airports Leonardo da Vinci - Roma Fiumicino (FCO) and "G.B Pastine" - Roma Ciampino are also well connected to the Camping and are respectively 12km (FCO) and 16km (CIA) away.
There are several ways to reach the campsite from the airport. Since there is no direct bus to and from Camping, the most convenient solution, especially for families with children and a lot of luggage is surely by shuttle bus: the distance to and from the airport in this way will be about 30 min maximum. The transfer from Rome's airports to the Camping by shuttle bus certainly offers many advantages, including greater speed, the comfort of the vehicle, and the possibility of choosing the timetables. As far as public transport is concerned, there are services departing from Ciampino Airport and arriving at Colombo/Malafede via Laurentina and Palazzo Sport. The journey, including transfers, however, takes about 1h 19min. Once arrived at the terminus, however, you have to walk another 10 min to reach the campsite. For this reason, the most popular solution for tourists is certainly that of the transfer service from the airport by private shuttle bus, for its many advantages.
